Bryan Park Happenings

Spring is here, the azaleas are out and that can only mean one thing. Bryan park is right around the corner. I am going to declare this the 25th year as we have been saying "over twenty years old" for a while and it actually fall on the 100th anniversary of the park. There are old news clippings going back to early in the last century showing bike racing in the park back when high-wheelers were around. One hundred years later the pavement is finally going to get a touch up. Well, not sure that last time it really did get a touch up but not in the 10 years I have been associated with the event. Our fund-raiser is on to collect enough to patch quite a few areas. $6500 is the goal but every bit over that goes to more asphalt and not my beer fund so keep it coming. No gift is too small but if Stu Louder gives his in loose change again I might punch him as it does not fit neatly in the deposit envelope. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far and hopefully we will see lots of fresh blacktop.
The races begin Tuesday May 18th and will run every Tuesday until September 7th. Same format as always with B racers starting at 6 and the A racers going off after the B's - about 6:40 or so.
Braden Govani at Carytown Bicycles is creating leaders jerseys for us.
Junior races will start on the 25th at 5:30.

The complete flyer is attached to the right.

Hope to see many of you out there again.

Matt
